"Internal combustion forklifts can no longer be used in beverage warehouses"
As the internal combustion forklifts at the Xiasha production base of Hangzhou Wahaha Baili Food Co., Ltd. approached the end of their service life, the company needed to purchase new forklifts to ensure the daily production and transportation of beverages. Internal combustion forklifts were vetoed by Zhu Shuangjia. Having managed the warehouse for many years, he was well aware that the exhaust emissions from internal combustion forklifts directly degrade indoor air quality, posing health risks to workers and potentially causing secondary contamination of the beverages.
Zhu Shuangjia turned his attention to electric forklifts. At the time, Wahaha purchased a batch of electric forklifts from a foreign brand: "The quality of this brand's forklifts is reliable, but the spare parts are expensive, and after-sales service in the local area is not prompt enough. Mastering core battery technology, first encounter with BYD
Just when Zhu Shuangjia was at a loss, he learned about BYD electric forklifts through industry peers. During the trial period, Wahaha staff reported that, under high-intensity operating conditions, the shock absorption system of the electric forklifts using solid tires was relatively weak, and the rear axle was under prolonged overload, posing quality concerns. In response, BYD Forklifts quickly organized technical personnel to make improvements to the shock absorption system, component materials, and structural welding processes, promptly addressing the issues with the vehicles in use, eliminating safety risks, and fully meeting the customer's on-site requirements.
Satisfied with both product and service, decision to purchase in bulk
The advanced lithium technology, high-end configurations, and comprehensive after-sales service left Wahaha highly satisfied. By the end of 2013, BYD lithium forklifts were officially introduced in bulk to the Xiasha production base of Hangzhou Wahaha Baili Food Co., Ltd., becoming a crucial part of Wahaha Group's safety system.
Zhu Shuangjia vividly remembers the moment when all forklifts in the factory were replaced with BYD models: "The strange smell of fuel and exhaust in the warehouse disappeared, the deafening engine noise was gone, the working environment for frontline employees was completely transformed, and work efficiency significantly improved."
Zhu Shuangjia told reporters that BYD forklifts not only reduce operational and labor costs for the company but also promote the standardization of warehouse management. Previously, workers would avoid the loud noise of fuel forklights even before they approached. Now, with BYD forklifts, the working conditions are so comfortable that sometimes the horn must be used to remind workers to move aside. As a result, Baili Company reorganized the warehouse area's road layout, establishing clear markings for vehicle lanes, pedestrian paths, corners, and intersections. This change eliminated the previous chaos of mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic, improved work order, effectively reduced collisions between handling equipment, enhanced worker safety, and further increased the utilization of storage space, elevating warehouse management to a new level.

"After choosing BYD, Wahaha effectively reduced operational costs, improved work efficiency, and promoted rapid corporate development, achieving a win-win situation for both supply and demand," Zhu Shuangjia remarked at the end of the interview. He also offered suggestions on issues of concern to customers, hoping that BYD Forklifts would continue to strictly control the quality of components and ensure smooth supply channels for spare parts. Regarding the timeliness of spare parts supply, Mr. Zeng Shusheng, Sales General Manager of BYD Forklifts, stated that BYD is renovating the warehouse of its Shanghai branch to further expand the inventory of forklift spare parts, providing timely supplies for BYD forklift users in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region. Simultaneously, over a hundred service outlets nationwide are being gradually upgraded and improved.
